Mr. Mohamed V. Muhsin

Mr. Mohamed V. Muhsin is a seasoned Strategic Management Consultant and the head of MVM & Associates, a Washington DC-based consultancy firm. He is a Chartered Accountant and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka. Muhsin retired from the World Bank in 2005, after 17 years of service, having held the role of Vice President and Chief Information Officer (CIO) under World Bank President James D. Wolfensohn. In that role, he led efforts to align technology with the Bank’s business strategy, driving enterprise-wide reforms in knowledge management, business systems, global telecommunications, and videoconferencing—work showcased in a Harvard Business School Case Study.


Before his World Bank tenure, Muhsin spent 12 years in Zambia as Group Financial Director of ZIMCO and served as advisor to President Dr. Kenneth Kaunda on state enterprise reform. Earlier, he held senior roles in Sri Lanka’s private sector, notably at the Hayleys Group.


Today, he serves on several international corporate and foundation Boards and is Chairman of the Islamic Community Center of Potomac in Maryland, USA. A freelance columnist and journalist, Muhsin is also a proud alumnus of Trinity College Kandy, where he was Senior Prefect and Ryde Gold Medalist. He remains an advocate for using IT to drive development, having spoken at global forums and led innovations in knowledge sharing.
